Fund raising 2023: we are keen not to restrict how Neemia can use our support, leaving it to Victor and Lili to direct it where most needed. There are nonetheless some specific needs to flag up that they will need funds for:
Their 21 year old van (that in reality has probably done about 600,000Km!), which is their workhorse for doing deliveries and moving people and materials around, is going to need replacing soon. Finding one that will be suitable will cost around €25,000
They have a plan to buy an accessible vehicle which can be used as a community transport, particularly for people in wheelchairs, as no such facility exists in their district
There are two key opportunities to do this:
1. On Sat. 17 June we’re having an afternoon get together, 14:30-16:00 at St. Mark’s Church, North Heath Lane, Horsham (RH12 5PU), with refreshments and a video from Neemia to give a first-hand presentation of their work
2. We’ve set up an on-line page again with Stewardship where you can make a contribution to this year’s efforts: https://www.stewardship.org.uk/pages/FIPT2023
One-off gifts are great, or we can organise something regular if you’d like to – and don’t forget to Gift Aid if you can. Please do get in touch if you have any questions.
We’re not going to be able to fund all of that (!) but if we can provide a good chunk to help that would be amazing.
And there are the regular needs that we’ve supported over the years:
Winter support fund for children from poor families
Adult sanitary supplies for families with bedbound members
Winter fuel for the Community Centre
Support for: Summer Camps; training for young leaders; maintenance, utility and admin costs
so anything you can help with will be put to very good use.
